California

2nd Anniversary
October 20, 1996
State of California
Yosemite National Park
Yosemite Chapel
This year we invited all friends and family to join us and had a few takers. We rented the biggest Cadillac we could find to make the drive from Los Angeles to Yosemite National Park (6 hours one way). We made the trip with friends, Lance Sticksel and Steve Kosted. Andy Biggers and Bret Morrison drove in to meet us from the San Francisco Bay area. We gathered at the Yosemite Valley Chapel in the heart of the breathtakingly beautiful Yosemite National Park.
Eric had arranged for the chapel, the park chaplain, and the pianist who played some of our original wedding music. This was a more formal ceremony than in Las Vegas, so we both dressed up, recited our original vows, and relit our unity candle. We were so nervous that Eric gave me his right hand rather than his left, and I put the ring on the wrong hand. We both wondered at the time why we had such a tough time getting the ring on his finger! After the ceremony, we got to ring the steeple bell and listened as it echoed off of Yosemite's granite walls.
All of our wedding guests joined us for a glorious dinner in the dining room of the Ahwahnee Hotel where we enjoyed stunning views of the sunset over the valley. We then made the drive back to Los Angeles, again newlyweds.
